CAITLYN SMITH SOPHOMORE ALBUM SUPERNOVA AVAILABLE NOW

ritically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Caitlyn Smith’s highly-anticipated sophomore album Supernova is available today via Monument Records. Inspired by Caitlyn’s time on the road with her husband and two young sons, Supernova showcases Caitlyn’s most vulnerable songwriting to date, expressing both the highs and lows that make life so beautiful. NPR’s All Songs Considered has featured Supernova on their New Music Friday: The Top 10 Albums Out on March 13 podcast, declaring Caitlyn’s “making a kind of beautiful, sophisticated adult pop music that would work perfectly on the Hot 100 mainstream radio, but also has that grace and elegance of classic adult contemporary music,” American Songwriter has proclaimed, “Caitlyn Smith shines bright on second album Supernova,” and Paste asserts, “Supernova is Starfire’s cooler older sister – a little wiser, a little more world-weary (though no less hopeful) and wearing a little more eyeshadow.” Listen to Supernova here.

Lead single “Long Time Coming” has received rave reviews, with Esquire featuring it as one of their “Best Sad Songs of 2020,” describing, “Good. Old. Classic. Sadness. Caitlyn Smith’s moody track is the kind of song that you listen to when you’re working your way out of that terrible place,” and E! News observing, “there’s something so undeniably cinematic about this single.” It’s been a monumental year for Caitlyn who has been named one of Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch for 2020 and has taken home a Critic’s Choice award for best original song for “Glasgow (No Place Like Home)” from the film Wild Rose.

Caitlyn will celebrate the release of Supernova with a performance of “Long Time Coming” on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on Monday, March 16. Caitlyn has captivated audiences across the country with her live performances, and Billboard has pronounced, “Caitlyn Smith silenced the venue with her powerful vocals and undeniable stage presence.” For the health and safety of fans, Caitlyn’s upcoming shows with Little Big Town are being rescheduled, and updates will be available via Caitlynsmith.com/#tour. Caitlyn will headline Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on May 7 and Minneapolis’ First Avenue on May 9, and she will embark on tour with Maren Morris on “RSVP: The Tour” this summer.

Caitlyn recently confided to People, “a star’s final moment is the most awe-inspiring thing I’ve ever seen… and isn’t that how we should be living our lives? Shining as brightly as we can,” and with the release of Supernova and all she has coming up this year, it’s clear that Caitlyn is doing just that.
