WALKER HAYES’ NEW SINGLE “DON’T LET HER” IMPACTS COUNTY RADIO ALONGSIDE ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW YOUTUBE SERIES “HAYES OF OUR LIVES”
On the heels of CMA Fest, where Monument Records recording artist Walker Hayes packed out the Chevy Riverfront Stage and drew the largest crowd that the Radio Disney Stage saw this week, his new single, “Don’t Let Her,” impacts country radio. In partnership with the Arista Nashville promotion team, it was the second most added song of the week. |
While out on tour with Old Dominion in Europe last year, Walker was feeling far from home, and missing his family deeply. One night, he decided to text his wife, Laney, a list of the things he loves most about her. When he took that list to the writing room a few weeks later, co-writers Andrew DeRoberts and multi GRAMMY-award winner Shane McAnally jumped on the idea. What resulted was a modern love letter of sorts – a guidebook about Laney to pass on to her next partner if something were to happen to Walker. |
Impacting country radio this week, the song is a follow up to Walker’s previous singles “90s Country,” “Craig,” and the RIAA Certified Platinum hit, “You Broke Up with Me.” Listen to “Don’t Let Her” HERE. After 15 years of marriage to his wife, and six children together, Walker finds a lot of inspiration at home. Often writing songs about fatherhood and his children, “Don’t Let Her” is the first song he has released about his wife. Deeply personal and heartwarming, the song gives us a look into their relationship for the first time. To further open the doors, Walker and Laney are launching a new YouTube Series called “Hayes of Our Lives,” where they delve into everything from how they met in high school to how Walker proposed, to life with six kids. The first episode, “Meeting for the First Time” is out today, with weekly episodes to follow. Check out the adorable trailer HERE. There is no way you can’t smile while watching!
